Jonathan’s a bit naive sometimes.

Lots of news today. First, I have registered with TopWebcomics! Vote for me once a day, every day, and let’s see if we can’t get that number down. Three years ago, I entered a short story in TokyoPop’s Rising Stars of Manga contest. I never won, but the story I submitted three years ago is actually a different version of Chapter Two. The voting incentive for TobWebcomics will be pages from this early work; one page a week. See how the encounter with Krawley was originally planned and see how many of the characters have changed since then.

Secondly, I will be going to Intervention in two weeks. I will be in Artists’ Alley along with Shapeshifter Studios, who bring you the comic Cybergen 2027 and Megami Jadeheart, who does the comic Annie. Elaine Corvidae, who does the comic Riven Sol will also be there, but I’m not sure if she’ll be in Artists’ Alley. All three comics are very good, and you should check them out. And stop by if you’re attending! I’ll have copies of Chapter One on hand as well as a lovely print of the night sky of the world that LaSalle’s Legacy inhabits.

I’m going for a bit of an American editor feel with the liner notes; let me know if they’re helpful or not. Crystal workers are magic users who bring out the magical properties of different crystals; like the lorian and light crystals. It is the only magic discipline open to women in the Old World because it is a magic power that only belongs to women. And Bob is right in that they aren’t really regarded as women. All magic users are considered their own class of people: they can’t marry or have children.

Yea! It’s the first Thursday post! I’m sure most of you aren’t surprised that Yvette’s there. ^__^ Notice she did clean up a bit.

This is also the first page where I worked at a larger scale then shrunk it down for print size. I can get so much more detail in the backgrounds and feel I have more control over my lines. Why did I not do this sooner?

I’m back from vacation! I went camping out in Pennsylvania for a week. I’m a little sunburned, and trying to get used to air conditioning again, but I feel all refreshed. I want to thank Shrimp Bentley for updating the comic for me while I was away; I couldn’t have done it without you!

I also have some more big news. Starting this week, LaSalle’s Legacy will be updating twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. ^__^ Yea!

First up, a big welcome to any of you who discovered this comic at Otakon. ^__^ We’re nearing the end of Chapter Two right now, so I’d suggest you start at the beginning to understand everything that’s happening. Oh, and next week, I will be on vacation. LaSalle’s Legacy will update as usual, but there won’t be much commentary.

Otakon was a lot of fun. I met a lot of new artists and made lots of new friends. And I paid for my table with sales. What more could you ask for? ^_^

Teague originally had a mustache, but I discovered it was really hard to draw his mouth expressions with his mustache and beard all black, since they covered it. It works better with Henry, who’s blonde. So, Teague goes mustache-less.

Firstly, I will be in the Artist Alley at Otakon this weekend at booth F11. I will be sharing a booth with the lovely and talented Megami Jadeheart, who is the author of “Annie”. I will have the first chapter of LaSalle’s Legacy and some other artwork up for sale. Come stop by and say ‘hi’!

Secondly, this page is another experiment of mine. Because the words are so important on this page, I wanted to emphasize them without much pictures, as is done in shoujo (girl’s comics) manga in Japan. I particularly like the last panel in all its bleakness.

The first chapter of LaSalle’s Legacy is now in print!
