I’m sorry I have to do this to you guys, but last week was really hectic and I couldn’t finish the comic on time. Next week, things will be back to normal, so I hope you can bear with me.
Today is a sketch of the pirates that are attacking The Panda. I did this sketch a while back to figure out what the pirates were going to look at, and before I decided that most of them were going to be ugly. I believe the captain remained mostly the same, save he didn’t want to wear a vest, but the rest changed drastically. So did the ship; this one is in much better shape than the current one.
You can also see I work with red (and blue) pencil a lot. I’m a very messy sketch artist, and I abuse my paper a lot with pencil marks and erasers. I found that I can preserve the paper a bit more if I work my rough sketches out in blue or red and go over them in carbon. 🙂
