Hope everyone had a good weekend! I went and saw “The Croods” on Saturday. It was a pretty good movie, though I remember sometime towards the end wondering how they were going to actually end the movie. It suffered a little from switching protagonists in the middle, but it was an enjoyable experience. The visuals were gorgeous and I loved watching all the unique animals that may or may not have actually existed in their time. I also enjoyed the 2-D animation at the beginning of the movie and hope the trend continues in Dreamworks movies. As for the previews, I was intrigued by Epic (which looks like it was influenced by Ferngully) but none of the rest. Especially the new Smurfs movie. Did the first one really make enough money to warrant a second?
I saw the preview for Epic and thought “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” meets “Ferngully”. 😛 And yes, the Smurfs probably made enough money from clueless parents to warrant a second. Such is Hollywood and humans’ perpetual love of things we recognize.
Jonathan, Jared, Jack… When do we get to meet Joshua, Jerry, James and the rest of the gang? Will there be any Jolenes, Joannas or Janes?
