That first panel was difficult to figure out, especially given the multiple perspectives I needed to use (why oh why do I do this to myself again?). Luckily, thanks to my sister, I now have the book “Extreme Perspective” which covers things like hills, so I’ll be better informed on how to accomplish these scenes later on. 🙂 Also, in that last panel, you might notice a couple of interesting characters entering the tavern. Those two are Blaise and Jassart, from Snow by Night by Eric Menge and Brittany Michel, which you should read if you aren’t already doing so. 🙂
This week’s SpiderForest comic of the week is Riven Sol by my good friend Elaine Corvidae. Riven Sol is a story where science fiction romance meets lovecraftian horror. It takes place on Danforth Space station, where orphaned children disappear mysteriously and the guards are unfriendly at best. A young man, known only as ‘Silence’ befriends a newcomer named Carter, and he takes it upon himself to help her survive. But Carter isn’t all that she seems to be. Wonderfully written and told, you’ll enjoy it, especially if you love horror.
I’ll also be at Heroes Con this weekend in Charlotte, NC, along with the Snow by Night creators and Elaine Corvidae. Though I’d love to say I’m super organized and planned to talk about both of them in my blog, this is just a happy coincidence. 🙂 My table number is AA750, which I think is at the place indicated on the map below. I’m listed under Jennifer Smith, and will have the usual assortment of books, prints, buttons and t-Shirts along with a brand new poster. If you’ll be going, stop by and say ‘hi’!
