Silver Throated Grackle; Page 24
This page contains some of my more favorite lines from this chapter. I hope you enjoy it! This week’s vote incentive is a sneak preview of a wallpaper i will be offering next year. It’s still not complete, so there might be changes, but I think it’s done enough for you to enjoy.
My husband and I went with my family on a cruise to the Caribbean last week. Since our finances are a bit tighter this year, we decided not to do many excursions and just visited the beach instead. I took my watercolors and did some painting, which I’ll put up as vote incentives once I unpack them. I’ve been distracted by Skyrim and taking care of my sick husband since I’ve come home (he only has a cold, nothing serious). Other than a slight sunburn and the phlegmy husband, the trip was very relaxing and fun. And I only gained a pound despite my eating habits! Though it’s been rough adjusting back to normal three times a day meals without desserts. XD
I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday weekend as well!
Are we correct to assume that similar to our “17th and 19th century European marriage customs” that Miss Elizabeth Figglesby when referring to her age of “getting older” is actually between 17 to 20 years old? I seem to remember most “ladies” of the period are married off by their parents at around 16 years of age for both political and financial purposes. Most are married off before their 18th birthday and I do believe a 25 year old woman was already considered an “old maid” by their standards and was better off sent to the nunnery than having any marriage prospects whatsoever.
You are correct. 🙂
