As you might have guessed, because of the abundance of solaris crystals for lighting, candles are not common and are very expensive to make. Which means that having candles and using them for light is seen as a status symbol. The fire patrol is placed near the rich peoples’ quarters for a very good reason; fires from the misuse of these candles aren’t uncommon, especially when someone really wants to show off and goes overboard. Why did Jonathan’s mother have candles? Find out next week. 😉
The countdown to Otakon begins! I’ll be in Artists Alley with Megami Jadeheart of Annie and Kat.Snow by Night and Nilah Magruder, one of the artists of Cybergen 2027 will also be there. If you’re going, please stop by and say ‘hi’! I’ll have some prints, buttons, and of course the first issue of LaSalle’s Legacy with me. 🙂 My group will be in space N 07 as shown on this map. Hopefully we’ll get lots of traffic. If you can’t make it, wish me luck! 😀
Two weeks after that, I will be in the Artists Alley of Baltimore Comic-Con along with Chezhnian and Eren of Tamuran. We’ll be under the name “Zyrenski Studios”, but I don’t know exactly where our booth will be. I think after that I’ll probably know the Baltimore Convention center like the back of my hand.
